Washington, Willie 'Wash'
Feb 12, 1936, to Mar 19, 2013
Was the devoted husband of 55 years to his late wife, Rose Ann (1937-2012). He was a dedicated father to Rosalind (1956-2008), Brenden (1965-2012) and Lea Washington; grandfather to 8; and great-grandfather to many more. Called 'Pop' by his family, he was 1 of 16 children born to Preston and Daisy Washington in Wilmington, NC. Wash had a distinguished 22-year US Air Force career, serving for a time at McClellan AFB in the early 1970s. Working 18 years for CMTA as a lobbyist in Sacramento, Willie was an expert on workers' compensation and other complex employment law issues. He was a distinguished member of the Epsilon Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, actively serving in various elected/volunteer positions. A quiet man of God, Willie was a longtime member of Faith Community Church, where he humbly served for over 15 years. Wash will be remembered for his graciousness, dry sense of humor, loyalty, patience, and service to others.
