Smith, Dr. John Christopher - “J.C.” – 86, died peacefully Friday, October 14, 2011. Born in Philadelphia, PA. October 12, 1925, John, a Navy veteran, served as a medic during WWII. Following his Honorable discharge, he became a physician specializing in internal medicine. John was an active communicant in service of his Church, a long-time Sacristan of the Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano, and a member of the Knight of Columbus. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, their children, Patricia, John and Desiree, three grandsons and a brother, Dr. William Smith of Long Beach, Ca. John will be greatly missed by his family, friends and parishioners. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 25th at Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano followed by a private burial at Riverside National Cemetery.
