Ottobre, Albert Francis

It is with infinite sadness that the family of Albert (Al) Ottobre regretfully announce that he passed away peacefully at his home August 23rd after a long illness. He was born on July 8th 1920 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. Albert will be remembered for his unconditional love and support to his wife, Helen Marie Ottobre who passed on April 10th 2008. He was also preceded in death by his son Albert Jr., brothers Rocco, Joseph, Jimmy, Carl, Johnny, Emanuel, Rudy and sisters Annie and "Daisy".

He is survived by his five Children, Ronald Ottobre, Charmaine Hansen, Jody Gabara, Daniel Ottobre and Bernadette Duckett; 12 grand children and 8 great grand children; sister Julie and brother Warren.

He was a B25 pilot during WWII and flew 62 missions. After the war he studied accounting at New York University and received a Masters Degree from Colombia University. Al has held positions as accountant, controller, treasurer and vice president at such corporations as Hughes Aircraft, Litton and Diodes Inc.

He loved music, he played drums in a small band, listened to Rodgers and Hammerstein and the Big Band Era. He was an accomplished stained glass artist and had a passion for electronics.

He was the Treasurer and chaplain for VFW Post 10694 in Santa Ana. Albert loved greeting his fellow parishioners as an Usher at St. Cecilia for over 45 years. We know he smiling down on us with the angels.

The visitation will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, California, 92705 (714) 633-1442 from 4 pm to 8 pm. The Funeral will be at St. Cecilia's Church 1301 Sycamore Ave. Tustin, California, 92780 (714) 544-3250

Wednesday August 31st at 10am. Gravesite services will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Park 12 pm following the funeral.
