Olson Jr., Thomas V.

Olson Jr., Thomas V., 55, of Trabuco Canyon and formerly of Tustin, died suddenly on June 12th at UCI Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Olson was born in Seattle, Washington on October 26, 1955. He is survived by a daughter, Taylor Anne of Seattle, Washington. He is the beloved son of the late Thomas V. Olson Sr. and Georgie Olson of Irvine. He leaves his sister, Lea Caruso of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, and brother, Jon Olson of Riverside. Additionally, his sister-in-law, Kristin Olson; brother-in-law, Jim Caruso; nephews, Gregory Caruso, Jordan Gonzales, and Christopher Olson; and, nieces Delia Gonzales and Sarah Caruso. Mr. Olson was an avid photographer and swimmer. He graduated from St. Xavier High School, Cincinnati, Ohio and University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. During high school and college he was a member of four state swimming championship teams, one National Championship team, and qualified for six National swimming championships and one NCAA championship. He was a seven-time All-American selection and was once ranked in the top 25 swimmers in the world. He volunteered as a photographer for several high school sports teams. He also volunteered many hours to the Richard and Donna O'Neill Land Conservatory. Services will be held on June 29th at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Irvine with interment at Fairhaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Olson's name to the Richard and Donna O'Neill Land Conservatory, The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo, PO Box 9, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92693.
