Delgadillo, Michael Reyes, 57, died March 5, 2013 in an automotive collision in Costa Mesa, CA. He was born on March 28, 1955 in Santa Ana, CA. He is survived by his four children, Quinton, Sierra, Noah, Ivy; children of Mike and Desiree Delgadillo; his parents, Virginia and Fred; his brother, Jeffrey; nieces, Camille and Claire. His older brother, Douglas is deceased.

Mike's life was committed to service. In 1978, Mike began his law enforcement career as a reserve at the Fountain Valley Police Department. His outstanding effort as a reserve earned him a position as a police officer with the West Covina Police Department. Subsequently, he joined the Costa Mesa Police Department where his 32-year commitment to protecting the community thrived. His jobs spanned from the K-9 Unit, to Gangs and most recently to Robbery/Homicides where he worked as a Detective. He took great pride in being a senior member of the Costa Mesa Police Department.

A funeral mass is scheduled: Friday, March 15, 2013 beginning at 11:00am, St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 51 Marketplace, Irvine, CA.

The Delgadillo family has been a long time member of the Mater Dei community. Mike attended and graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1973. His older children are also Mater Dei alumni's -- Quinton graduated in 2010 and Sierra in 2012. Noah is currently a sophomore at Mater Dei High School and Ivy will be a freshman in the fall.
