Thomas M. McGivern, a devoted husband, dedicated father, loving son, a caring grandfather and uncle, a real friend, passed away peacefully on Jan 28, 2012, at home. He was born in Marengo, IA to the loving parents of Thomas and Lois McGivern on Feb 26, 1928, and moved to Los Angeles from Iowa at the age of 8. He attended Holy Spirit, Loyola High School, and Loyola University. He served in the Navy from 1946 to 1948. He retired from McDonnell Douglas in 1993 after 35 years. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; four children, daughter Janet Lewis, and sons Timothy, James and Thomas; eight grandchildren: Danielle, Lisa, Kristen, Kathleen, Timothy, Jennifer, Kevin and Terry. Vigil and Mass will be held at San Francisco Solano Catholic Church, Rancho Santa Margarita, Monday, February 6th at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Ascension Cemetery, Lake Forest.
