Jimmy was born in San Francisco's North Beach. He was the youngest of 11 children. Born to Joseph and Josephina Marino who immigrated to the United States from Italy. He attended Galileo High School. Jimmy was a WWII veteran; he served in the U.S. Army's 91st division in Europe. (Mediterranean and Algiers) He was married to Anita (DelCastillo) Marino for 74 years. He was a devoted husband who enjoyed spending time with his family. Jimmy was a member of the Teamsters Union and worked for the San Francisco News-Call Bulletin and the San Francisco Examiner Newspapers. After retiring he spent most of his time in Sonoma where he enjoyed playing Bingo, Card games and watching San Francisco Giants baseball games. Jimmy loved to travel the world. He especially enjoyed taking boat cruises to Alaska with his wife and daughter. He loved spending time in Disneyland with his granddaughters. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 74 years Anita Marino. Two daughters, Christine Kirley (Joe), Judith Talus (Ron). Four grandchildren, Dustine Kirley, Amanda Puccinelli (Jason), Jimmy Talus (Patty), Paula Young (Dan). Great Grand Children, Anita Puccinelli and many others. Known to his family by Jimmy, Daddy and Poppy will be loved and missed always and forever.
A Rosary will begin at 5:30pm on Sunday March 15, 2015 at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday March 16th at 10:30am at Saints Peter and Paul Church Filbert St. (between Powell & Stockton), in San Francisco's North Beach.
