Janice Kiefer
Resident of Saratoga and Los Gatos
Janice Kiefer died peacefully surrounded by her family on December 6, 2012 at age 89 years young.
She was a resident of Saratoga/Los Gatos since 1955. After obtaining a BA in Sociology in the early 1940's, Jan met Frank Kiefer upon his return from WWII to whom she was happily married to for 45 years. They were active members of La Rinconada and Monterey Peninsula Country Clubs and shared an active life of golf, bridge, travel, and wonderful friends. She was a lifetime member of Temple Emanuel Sisterhood and lifetime member of Brandeis. Formerly, a member of Jewish Family Services and wrote a book for the immigrants to get started in the USA and translated books into brail for the blind. Finally, her last years were devoted to Chai House.
She is survived by her four children Alana Miller, Cheri Kiefer, Lujean Seagal, Kip Kiefer and grandchildren, Joshua, Julian, Adam, Zachary, Nicole, Cole, India along with her great grandchildren and her beloved dog Shanna. She was vibrant, active, and ever entertaining. For those that didn't know her you might have seen her driving her convertible with her famous plates of "EZ Par" smiling with her white hair blowing in the wind.
