Katherine Ames Hyman Dec. 10, 1964 - Jan. 26, 2012 Katherine Ames Hyman died unexpectedly at her home on January 26, 2012. She is survived by her father, Bruce W. Hyman (Simone), brother, James Hyman (Laurie), nieces Sophie and Ella Hyman, and nephew, Charlie Hyman. She was born in San Francisco and was the daughter of Bruce and Toni Hyman (deceased). She attended Marin Academy high school and the University of Arizona, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree. She was well recognized for her career in the hotel catering profession. Her animated personality attracted friends everywhere, and she had a unique ability to connect people. Katherine had a huge heart and was always there for friends in need. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. She loved friends, family, music, travelling and all things San Francisco. She spent time volunteering with St. Anthony's Dining Room, Holy Family Day Home, the SPCA's Animal Assisted Therapy Center (with her beloved canine companion, "Petey") and was an avid supporter of Cancer research. A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 4PM at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 2515 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA (Cross Street: Jackson) In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Katherine Ames Hyman to either the SPCA's Animal Assisted Therapy program, Holy Family Day Home or to the charity of your choice .
