Tributes for

Filppin, Ronald

Flippin, Ronald "Ron", age 55, died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, CA on 3/20/15. The cause was complications from pancreatitis.

Born Nov. 2, 1959 in Downey, CA, Ron grew up in the Inland Empire, but moved to Dana Point in 1996. He most recently resided in Old Town Orange and was a fixture downtown riding his bike and socializing in the Plaza. Ron worked in the construction industry for over 30 years and was well known in the industry for his work ethic and his pride in making sure the homes he was in charge of building were perfect. He worked for Standard Pacific Homes for 9 years and recently was working for The New Home Company.

Ron is survived by his wife, Jeannie, whom he called his "soulmate." They had a lot of fun adventures and also just enjoyed being at their home, where Ron was known·for his "killer" vegetable garden that he planted every year in their large backyard, and his home projects, including the fabulous chicken coop he built for their hens. Ron is survived by his parents, Joyce and Al Flippin; his brother, Steve Flippin and his sister-in-law, Kathy; his sister, Pam Flippin Smith and brother-in-law, Joe. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well.

He was a loving father to daughter, Jennifer Flippin, and grandfather to Alissa and Christian, all of the Inland Empire. Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Flippin.

Ron was known for his kindness and generosity. He was a humble, low-key, laid back, gentle soul. He was the best friend and neighbor you could ask for. He will be missed more than we can say and the void he will leave will never be filled. RIP our sweet, dear husband, father, brother, son and all around good guy.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Mar. 25 from 4-8 pm at the Shannon Bryan Mortuary 137 E. Maple in Orange.
