Anne Raley Courter passed away peacefully at home in Carmichael, CA, March 22, 2012, at the age of 68 due to complications caused by diabetes. She was born in Harrison, Arkansas, May 8, 1943, to Robert and Gladys Raley.

Anne grew up in Harrison, Arkansas for thirteen years at which time the family moved to Sacramento. She graduated from McClatchy High School and received a Medical Assistant Certificate from Sacramento City College. She worked as a medical assistant for a short time. She also worked for the San Juan Unified School District as a teacher's assistant for twenty four years. She married William Courter at the First Baptist Church in Sacramento, on November 17, 1990.

Anne's main interests were decorating, cooking, reading, and being with her children. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church at 24th and L Streets for many years.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Gladys Raley. She is survived by her spouse, William Luther Courter; and her children, Robert Hinz (Carol) of Galt, Laura Maxwell (Mike Lynch), and Lisa Hinz (Ursula Fabun), stepsons, Martin (Tara), Ronald, and Aaron (Katherine). She will be greatly missed by her sisters and brothers, Patty Raley of San Francisco, Bobbie Bradley (Gary), John Raley of El Dorado Hills, and Thom Raley. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mariah Maxwell, Christopher Hinz (Garnet), Alison Hinz, and LesLee Reyes (Michael), with two great-grandchildren, Devin and Dylan Reyes, and two step grandchildren Korin and Jasmine. Anne was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who always said 'The best job she ever had was raising her children'.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a visitation Thursday, March 29, 2012, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Lind Brothers Mortuary, 4221 Manzanita Avenue, Carmichael, CA, 95608, 916-482-8080. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, 2012, at 11:00 am at the mortuary. Private interment with the immediate family will be held at the Fair Oaks Cemetery.
