Carter, Sr., Dan William 89, of Sweetwater, Texas, died on August 7, 2011 at Sweetwater Health Care. Dan moved to Sweetwater in February of 2011 with his family from San Clemente, California. He had also lived in El Paso, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada. He was retired from the United States Army, and worked as an instructor for the United States Civil Service. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Member of the Sertoma Club, VFW and American Legion. Survived by son, Dan W. Carter, Jr of Sweetwater, and several nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Thomas Carter on April 18, 2011. Services will be held Thursday, August 18, 2011, 11 am, at First Presbyterian Church Chapel. Interment at Sweetwater Cemetery, Rev. Earl Stewart officiating.
