Gino Romano Cappellazzo, 85, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on June 11, 2012 at his home in Cupertino, California.
Gino was born on October 16, 1926 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Ernesto and Adele (Mazzaro) Cappellazzo who migrated from Treviso (Veneto), Italy. Gino was raised in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Catholic Central High School. He retired from Westinghouse (Sunnyvale) after 25 plus years, last working as a Tool and Die Engineer in the Marine Division.
Gino was a 4th Degree and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Holy Name Society. Gino was a loving husband and father and an integral part of his family's lives.
Gino is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Francine (Bagileo), daughter, Tracey (Gavin) Mastropoalo of Los Gatos, and, son, Dean (Alison) Cappellazzo of Los Altos Hills, two grandchildren, Gino Anthony and Isabella Rose Cappellazzo; sister, Rina Cappellazzo of Tucson, Arizona, sister-in-laws Marie Hidalgo and Donna Bagileo, cousins residing in Italy, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a Vigil Service Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. with Visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph of Cupertino Church, 10110 North De Anza Blvd., Cupertino. Funeral Mass Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the above Church. Father Gary Thomas will be presiding over the Vigil and Funeral Mass. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Los Altos.
