Cameron, James W.

James William Cameron, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in West Sacramento on October 15, 2011.
He was born in Hendley, Nebraska to Jay and Eunice (Fults) Cameron and served in the military during WWII in the South Pacific. After the war he settled down in West Sacramento and never left, serving Yolo County as Deputy Sheriff, Detective, District Attorney Investigator and Yolo County Sheriff-Coroner. He is a past President of the CA State Sheriff's Association. He was a founding member and 2nd President of the West Sacramento Little League and served as a fire commissioner and community service board member.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Cameron and his beloved dog Chiquita, his three children Clark (Donna) Cameron, James Jr. (Colleen) Cameron, Kimberly (Greg) Oliphint, 31 grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Dean and sister Dorothy Cameron.
A memorial celebration will be held at the West Sacramento City Hall Galleria 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 6, 2011. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to a charity of your choice .
