Akashi, Mary S., 98 passed away on March 26, 2016. Predeceased by her beloved husband, David Fumio Akashi and sister, Florence Uba; she is survived by her loving children, Alan (Joyce) Akashi, Larie Izumo, Candace (Ken) Watase and Jennie (Art) Hasegawa; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Freddie Funakoshi; she is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives. Private family funeral services were held on Thursday, April 7 at Inglewood Park Cemetery "Chapel of Chimes" in Inglewood with Rev. Fumiaki Usuki of WLA Buddhist Temple officiating.
