Aguilera, Robert

Robert Timothy Aguilera, 31, passed away on March 26 in Yorba Linda. Born in Riverside, California on February 21, 1984, Robbie was a 2002 graduate of Valencia High School in Placentia. Robbie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema and Television Arts from California State University, Northridge, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Friends and family will remember Robbie for his loyalty, sense of humor, kindness, and his choice to live life unabashedly. He was committed to the idea that all people and groups should be treated equally and was not afraid to stand up for his beliefs. Robbie showed his unwavering support for these beliefs by having a heart for issues related to Equality Now, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Special Olympics, and Alex's Lemonade Stand. Two of Robbie's cherished endeavors were serving many years as a volunteer cast member at the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach, and as a player, volunteer, coach and mentor for Fullerton College's volleyball teams. Robbie is survived by his father, Larry Aguilera; mother, Risa Zavala; maternal grandmother, Doris Zavala; sister, Lorae Heffner, her husband, Hunt; two nieces, Harper and Reiss; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Salvador Zavala; paternal grandparents, Pete and Natividad Aguilera; and his brothers, Rory Aguilera and P.J. Aguilera. Services for Robbie will be held at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church - 19767 Yorba Linda Blvd., Yorba Linda, CA; 714-970-2771. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, April 16, at 7:30 PM and the Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 17, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, The Aguilera Memorial Fund has been set up with SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union.
