Allen, Robert Clarke, 67, died of pancreatic cancer at his home in San Juan Capistrano, CA, on Tuesday, May 14. Bob was born in St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, the son of Roy C. Allen and Marjean Palmer Allen. Bob attended Long Beach schools Carver, Marshall, Millikan, and Long Beach City College, then graduated from UCLA.

Bob was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout, played baseball Little League, Elks 888 League, Pony League, Colt League, high school and American Legion ball. He also played football at Millikan High School. In the past ten years, he was an enthusiastic participant in triathlons. He enjoyed swimming and cycling.

During his twelve years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps attaining the rank of Captain, was awarded the Bronze Star during his one-year tour in Viet Nam. He also served as Commanding Officer of the Marine detachment on the USS Saratoga when it was on duty in the Mediterranean.

He and his wife Carol were founding members of the Calvary Chapel of San Clemente which met at their residence. Their first minister was Brian Burnette.

Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol Buswell Allen, daughters Megan Seager (Ben) and Laurel Sobota (Shawn), son Andrew, and three grandchildren: Chase, Brynn and Audra Seager.

He is also survived by his father Roy C. Allen, brother Ronald T. Allen, brother Mark P. Allen (Susan) and sister Christine Allen. Bob is also survived by his step-mother Louise Hennessy Allen, step-brothers John and Jim Hennessy, step-sister Jane Hennessy Zeimantz.

Also surviving are nieces and a nephew: Tricia Allen Webb (Dawson), Trevor and Lauren Allen and their daughter Ila Allen, plus Daniella Allen Truett of Gainesville Florida.
