Tributes for

Hand Jr., Frederick C.

Frederick C. Hand, Jr. was from Bogota, New Jersey. He was born on December 13, 1932. Fred is survived by his caring wife, Rose, who he was married to for 53 years and by his loving sons and their wives- Brian and Maral, and Kevin and Kendra. The funeral service and interment took place at Green Hills Memorial Park. At the age of seventeen, straight out of high school and the ROTC, Fred enlisted in the US Air Force. Six months later he found himself in the middle of the Korean War where he was wounded and received many honors, including the Purple Heart. His ambitious nature led him to California where he attended El Camino College, which he loved, and then graduated from Long Beach State University with a degree in Political Science. He spent the next 18 years working in the Planning Department for the City of Los Angeles. He always had outside interests and pursued them all in a very intense manner. He owned horses, motorcycles, boats and airplanes and he was a very talented and respected tournament skeet shooter. This gave him so much joy. He was also a well respected and accomplished business man which gave him much satisfaction. He acccomplished everything he wanted to over the course of his life and we were blessed to have been a part of it. He will be dearly missed and we look forward to seeing him in the afterlife.
