Claudia J. Williamson, 74, of Kansas City, Mo. (formerly of Rancho Mirage, Calif.,) passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2013 with her entire family by her side. She was born August 27, 1939 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Lester and Maxine Wood. She was married in 1956, to Charles D. Williamson Jr. Together, they had four children. She was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Williamson in 1986. She is survived by her three daughters, Leslie Powers (Charles), Christine Osborne (David), and Amber Williamson-Okum (Robert). She is also survived by six grandchildren, Charles Powers III, Aaron Coffin, Michael O'Dowd, Adam Coffin, Devin Powers, Jennifer Powers; and many great-grandchildren. Claudia is also survived by her brother, Gary Wood; sister, Pamela Wilkening; and many nieces and nephews. In 1993, her husband of 38 years passed away. Two years later, she met the "love of her life," Mark Mooney, who became her companion of 18 years. Sadly, they passed away 17 days apart. She worked for the Retail Clerks Union in the desert for over 20 years. She always had a special way through her writings or phone calls to let us know that everything was going to be ok. "Grammy" as she was fondly called by her grandchildren was the brightest light in their eyes as they were in hers. There will never be a day in which she will not be greatly missed by all of us. A Funeral Service in her honor will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 12:00 pm in the Ramon Chapel at Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, Calif.
