Tributes for

Holtz, Virginia Ellen

Holtz, Virginia Ellen, age 87, of Villa Park, California, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2013. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on September 27, 1925. It is with heavy hearts that we say good-bye to our beloved Virginia Ellen. She went to be in the loving arms of Jesus, after a long, courageous battle with severe dementia. She is survived by her loving husband, Leroy, of 68 years, 3 children, a son, John Allan Holtz, of Laramie, Wyoming, a son, James William Holtz, of Houston, Texas, and a daughter, Judy Ann Prior, of Villa Park, California. Preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Lea Holtz. Virginia is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Prior, of Villa Park, California, Brittany Renee' Prior, of Villa Park, California, William Wright Holtz, of Houston, Texas, and Edward Kilborn Holtz, of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her younger sister, Donna Lea Miller, of Sunnyvale, California.

Virginia was an excellent wife and mother. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse for many years. Virginia also had a very exciting life because of her husband's career in the military. Leroy was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force, and so Virginia often lived in far-away places such as the Phillipines, and Germany, and traveled to fascinating, exotic, places like Hong Kong.

Virginia had one of the kindest hearts that anyone could ever have, and wanted only to love and minister to everyone she met. She will be greatly, greatly, missed by all who treasured her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11 am at Brown Colonial Mortuary, 204 West 17th Street, Santa Ana, CA 92706, followed by a reception and celebration of Virginia's life at her Villa Park home.

Interment will be in Ridge Cemetery, Fremont, Nebraska at 1 pm Tuesday April 2, 2013.
