STEELE, Alda J.
Age 77, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011. She was born in Monroe, LA, on June 16, 1934 and lived in Sacramento, CA for many years. Alda received her Master's degree in music from Sacramento State University and apportioned her life to sharing her musical talents with others. A beloved pastor's wife, Alda was involved in music in every church she attended, and taught students in grades elementary through college in both public and private schools. She was a private piano instructor for 50 years and was a member of the Sacramento Symphony Chorus for several years. Alda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Herbert L. Steele, and her children Michelle (Earl) Estep, Valerie (Brian) Hale, Zachary S. Steele, and Brent A. Steele. Alda was a devoted grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 4. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday, June 22, from 4-8 pm at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, 95841. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 10:00 am at First Church of the Nazarene, 1820 28th St, Sacramento, 95816.
