Dorothy Frances Young Smith passed away after a long illness Thursday Jan 16, 2014.
She was born 92 years ago in the Central Valley where she grew up with 5 sisters one brother and many cousins. She married and moved to San Carlos in 1950. She gave proof to the adage ‘happiness is good health and a bad memory’. In spite of her illness, the mention of her children always brought a smile to her face and a declaration of love. She was preceded in death by husband Tom and twin babies Mary and Margaret. She is survived by 7 children: Cecilia, Laurie, Rita, Tom, Michael, Patty, Greg, 10 grandchildren: Christopher, Andrea Margarita, Deborah, Suzanne, Tim, Bridget, Thomas, Amanda , Kathleen, 4 great-grandchildren: Aiden, Avani, Joie, Sawyer, 3 nieces: Leanne, Leslie, Rene’, cousin Ed Young and large extended family as well as many friends neighbors and acquaintances who know her kind heart and good food.

Visitation will be held Wednesday January 22 at Crippen & Flynn Carlmont Chapel, 1111 Alameda de las Pulgas from 6-8pm with Vigil Service at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Charles Church, San Carlos, January 23 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, compassionate acts and charitable donations in her name will be appreciated by all.
