Sangree, Joan A.,was born in Bordentown, New Jersey on December 20, 1927. She died peacefully and painlessly on January 1, 2012 while surrounded by her large loving family. Joan attended New Jersey College for Women and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bacteriology. She married in 1951 and for the next sixty years she was a selfless and loving wife and mother. When the last child entered college she began a new career as business manager for Greenhill Petroleum Company and subsequently managed her husband’s international teaching and consulting business. During a busy and active life she lived in Illinois, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Australia, Texas, Libya, and England. Her final days were spent amid family and friends in Georgetown (Sun City), Texas.

Joan enjoyed an ardent love affair with her lifetime sweetheart and husband, John Brewster Sangree. She is survived by her loving children Ian Sangree, Jill Chouffot, Paul Sangree, Carol Vykukal, Kathleen Laughlin and Amy Swartz and by their wonderful spouses. She also leaves behind many friends, fourteen admiring grandchildren and two great grandsons.

Memorial services are planned at Gabriels Funeral Chapel, Georgetown on Saturday, January 7 at 11:00 am.
