Born in Madera, CA and passed in Sacramento, CA, retired from the United States Navy from there he worked for Army Depot and UC Davis Medical Facility and worked at McClellan Commissary for twelve years. Roger leaves his caring mother, Clara Thomas; loving children, Althea (Rickey), Roger II (Sonya), Mario, Ayesha, Gregory (Toni), Ronald (Christine), Rena (Lamont), Shirley (Angel), Marion; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three siblings, Betty, Eulah, Larry; special friend, Mrs. Joyce, and a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. Friends are welcome for visitation Tuesday, April 16, 2012, 4-7pm at Morgan Jones Chapel of Chimes, 4200 Broadway, and attend his celebration of life on Wednesday, April 17, 2012 11am, at New Testament Baptist Church, 6746 34th Street. Interment Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
