Robert Edward Marks Jr., 92, resident of Santa Ana. He was born in Tchula, Mississippi on March 3, 1921and died in Santa Ana on August 30, 2013.

Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Catherine (Telef) Marks, of Santa Ana, his four children Phillip Marks, Stephanie Green of Garden Grove, Anthony Marks of Corona and Paul Marks of Los Angeles, along with six grandchildren, five nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Tchula High School and Holmes Jr. College in Mississippi. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps 1942 and served in Saipan, Mariana Island during World War II.
Also stationed in Guam, Australia, New Zealand, Okinawa and North Carolina. He retired from the USMC in 1962 as Chief Warrant Officer III.

Robert married Catherine on November 6, 1949 in Cherry Point, North Carolina. After retiring from the Marines in 1962, He worked for St. Joseph's Hospital of Orange in Purchasing and Supplies. Bob retired from St. Joseph Hospital in 1982 after 20 years of service.

Bob was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church for over 50 years, he served as an Usher for many of those years.

The vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, Sept. 5th at Brown Colonial Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, Sept. 6th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Santa Ana. Interment will follow in Fairhaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund, 727 Minter Street, Santa Ana, CA 92701.
