Tributes for

Riley, Jane

Jane was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 23, 1923 and in 1968 found her way to San Francisco. She made her home here until moving to Napa in 2010 where she passed on peacefully on February 19.

Jane was a broadcaster and manager with KCBS 740 in San Francisco for more than 30 years. (Herb Caen would refer to her as the "Queen of KCBS".) While at KCBS she was the creator and voice of "Bay Area Woman" where she interviewed over 1,000 women in business. She was Past President of American Women in Radio and Television, a co-founder of Bay Area Women's Roundtable and a member of Broadcast Legends. In 1986, Jane was the second woman in the history of the San Francisco Rotary Club to become a member. Jane was a Francophile, travelled to France and many other countries and collected souvenirs of her trips.

Jane will be greatly missed by her son Jim, her daughter-in-law Kristin, relatives on the east coast and in France and by her many friends in the Bay Area.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mary the Virgin Church at Union and Steiner Streets in San Francisco on Saturday April 12, 2014 at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider honoring a loved one of your own by going to www.cycle4sight.com and purchasing a Memorial Mile sign – the funds raised go to help veterans in need – a passionate area of concern of Jane's.
