Joseph Frank Riccio Nov. 15, 1923 - Nov. 14, 2011 Joe was born in Siderno Marina, Calabria, Italy and immigrated to the US in 1934. Pre-deceased are his parents, Giovanni & Evelina Riccio. His family settled in Martinez, CA. He graduated from Alhambra HS in 1943 & The American Inst. of Banking. Following a 35-year career, Joe retired from Bank of America in 1984 as a VP. Joe was married on September 9, 1951. He was the beloved Husband of 60 years to Stella Romeo Riccio, loving father of Evelyn (Joseph) Longinotti, Carla (Jack) Silva, John (deceased) & Judy Riccio, cherished Nonno of Jack, Angela, James, Isabella & Joseph. Loving brother-in-law to Joseph & Grace Romeo (pre-deceased) and Tony (Vera, pre-deceased) Romeo. Dear cousin of Joseph (deceased) & Diana Aliano, David (Vicki) Aliano, Steven (Monica) Aliano, Albert & Mary Romeo, Pre-deceased by Julio & Marie Poggi, Domenic & Vera Romeo. Caring Uncle to Constance Romeo, Charlie (Caroline) Romeo, Frank (Gena) Romeo, Diane (Jim) Land, Anne Marie (Paul) Aliotti, Gloria (Todd) Cowan, Donna (Al) Ghafouri and numerous cousins in Italy. A member of Il Cenacolo, Sons of Italy-Cornelia Vita Nuova Lodge, Columbus Day Celebration (Pres. 1979), SF Italian Athletic Club, SS Peter & Paul Finance Committee. Joe's family would like to especially thank the ICU staff of St. Mary's Hospital, Dr. Remo Morelli and Dr. James Hansen for their compassionate care and treatment. Joe especially enjoyed the time he and his family spent at their vacation home on the shores of Clear Lake. Joe enjoyed attending Sons of Italy conventions, and his second career as a Realtor with West and Praszker Realty. Meticulous in all he did, Joe was an avid bowler, BBQ'er, and photographer of his family's lives. Best of all, Joe was a family man at heart and a proud Italian American. Friends are welcome for visitation from 4-7PM Thursday, today, Nov. 17th at HALSTED N.GRAY - CAREW & ENGLISH, 1123 Sutter St. SF. A vigil service followed by the Funeral Mass will commence at 9:45AM Friday, Nov. 18th, at SS Peter & Paul Church, 666 Filbert St., SF. Interment will be private. Donations may be given to the Towers of Strength, c/o Sts. Peter & Paul, 666 Filbert St., San Francisco, CA 94133 or to SF Heart Assoc. or, to a charity of your choice.
