Tributes for

Pfeiffer, Pearl

Pearl Bagby Pfeiffer left this life peacefully to spend eternity with Jesus on December 29, 2013 at age 87. Home from the hospital Christmas Eve, Pearl was able to celebrate Christmas surrounded by most of her loving family, acknowledging each one with smiles and kisses, enjoying the laughter and joy.
Pearl was born in Pasadena to Victor and Helen Bagby. She was married for more than 67 years to Robert Pfeiffer, whom she met at a Servicemen's Center dance in Long Beach during World War II.
The Pfeiffers lived in Madison, Wisconsin and then in various Southern California locations. After ten years in Quartz Hill near Lancaster, California, they moved in 1962 to beautiful Meadow Vista where the family home remains. Through the early years, Pearl held a variety of secretarial positions and wrote for the local newspaper. Throughout her life she was patriotic and an active volunteer.
A devoted wife and mother, Pearl was also a woman of great faith. Her heart for others was shown in her helping hand and listening ear. Artistic, musical and creative, she encouraged those talents in her family. Her wisdom, subtle wit, warm smile and heartwarming laughter are greatly missed and will always be remembered.
Pearl is survived by her husband Robert and their children: Bruce [Edwina] Pfeiffer of Herlong, Kathy Hamblin of Meadow Vista, Linda Haldane of Nevada City, Jean [Bill] Strasser of Bakersfield, and John [Mariessa] Pfeiffer of Meadow Vista. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Victor Bagby; and her siblings: Lloyd, Mary Ann (Leeton), and Edna (Smith).
A celebration of Pearl's life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Placer Hills Community Church, 17250 Placer Hills Road, Meadow Vista, Calif.
