James Louis (Jim) Pettigrew was born in Sacramento, California April9, 1942, died March 16, 2015. Beloved husband of Judy (Ritchie) for 52 years nine months. They met when he was 9 and she was 8 and it seems they have been "Jim and Judy" ever since. Loving father of Jeff (Lonna), Jerry (Heather) and Jill (Stan) Ichiho. Loved grandpa to Michael (Shannon), Nicholas (Micaela), Keshauna, Shaun, Sarah, Ashleigh, Trevor and Katie. Proceeded in death by father and mother Fay & Althea Pettigrew, sister Dorothy, and father and mother-in-law Art & Lorena Ritchie, brother-in-law Ed Hart and many others. The eldest of six children, Jim is survived by brother Tom (Sheila), Barbara Hart, Sue (Scott) Alexander, Donald (Janet) and many loved nieces and nephews. Jim was a hard worker beginning to work when he was sixteen years old. He worked for 55 years at the family business, Pettigrew & Sons Casket Co. Friends are welcome at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento on Friday, March 20, 2015 for a visitation from 4-7PM and Rosary at 7:00 PM. Services will be on Saturday at 9:30AM, also at East Lawn Mortuary. Burial services and a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
