Tributes for

Osberg, Patricia R.

April 12, 1958 - April 16, 2015 Pat Osberg, 57, of Los Angeles, CA, passed away on April 16th, 2015. Pat was born in Paso Robles, CA on April 12, 1958 to Bill and Pat Osman. A member of the PRHS bicentennial graduating class of 1976, she continued her education at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, graduating with a degree in accounting. After beginning her career in 1980 at Price Waterhouse in Los Angeles, Pat went on to become a highly accomplished CPA with over 30 years experience in the areas of finance, accounting, financial operations and strategic planning. Working primarily in the field of healthcare finance, her professional experience included the positions of VP of Finance for Maxicare in Los Angeles and for Wellpoint in Woodland Hills as well as Regional CFO for United Healthcare in Cypress. "Booge" as she was known to family (it's a long story) loved adventure and traveling. Spending countless hours in research, she and her family traveled the globe. African photo safaris, pizza making in Italy, swimming with the sea lions in Ecuador and zip lining the jungles of Costa Rica, were just a few of their many adventures. She loved holidays and enjoyed decorating and celebrating each one as the year passed. One of her favorites was Independence Day when she hosted the annual Osberg July 4th Croquet Tournament and Barbeque. She was an avid gardener, creating beautiful flower and vegetable gardens for her family and friends to enjoy. After retiring from the corporate world, Pat continued to serve her community as a member of PEO and a faithful volunteer at The Discovery Store, benefitting the American Cancer Society. She remains the best-dressed statistician Santa Monica High has ever had. While her daughter, Ashley, played on the softball team, Pat faithfully attended and kept the stats, still in business suit and heels. Her quick wit and infectious laugh will be greatly missed and we take comfort in knowing she's with the angels, probably organizing a croquet game. She was proceeded in death by her father, William "Bill" Osman, and is survived by her mother, Patricia Osman; daughter, Ashley Osberg; son Andrew Osberg; sisters Gretchen (Sal) Cardinale and Lisa (Butch) Platt; nephew, Nick Cardinale; nieces, Jessica (Michael) Doremus and Vanessa Cardinale; great-niece, Anastasia Doremus; and her dear friend, Frances "Chip" Reiter. Per her request, a Celebration of Life and fireworks display is scheduled for July 18th at a location to be determined.
