Olvera, Emily Rose

Emily, age 25, passed away at home on Sat. April 26 after a 17 year courageous battle with leukemia. Emily was such a fighter and overcame so many medical problems during her battle, including a bone marrow transplant 2 years ago.

She is survived by her parents Dr. Robert and Patty Olvera of Santa Ana; sisters, Jenny Vasquez (and her husband Richard), and Katie Capriotti (and her husband Holden); 3 nephews Ryan, Jordan and Hudson; and grandparents Tony and Emma Olvera of Big Bear, CA. For many years, Emily was a spokesperson for the OC Chapter of the Leukemia Society of America. In 2009, Emily completed the full 26.2 mile Nike Women's Marathon. Emily had the sweetest heart which is reflected in the thousands of lives that she touched. She will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening May 2nd from 5-8 PM at the Fairhaven Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Ave., Santa Ana 92705. Funeral Services Saturday 9:30 AM May 3rd at Waverly Chapel at Fairhaven Mortuary, with burial immediately following at Santa Ana Cemetery.
