Nicolas "Nico" Javier Solis
Oct. 29, 1985 - June 15, 2013

Nico was born in San Mateo, CA on October 29, 1985. The following year, he and his parents, Ronald & Delia Solis, moved to Bernal Heights, San Francisco. Nico attended Mission Dolores Elementary School (K-8), and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preperatory High School (9-12).
Nico loved the outdoors and sports. He learned to fish in Pinecrest Lake, San Pablo Reservoir, Eagle Lake, and loved to fish in the open sea. He played basketball & baseball at Mission Dolores. He played football for several years with the San Francisco Seahawks Pop Warner program, and continued to play football at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep for four years. Nico also participated in track & field for the Renaissance Track Club & SHCP. Nico qualified for the Junior Olympics and competed in Javelin, Shot Put & Discus. After his high school graduation he attained his Journeyman's License as a Plumber & Steamfitter through Local Union #467 in Burlingame, CA
During the past year, Nico's adventurous spirit led him to Patong, Thailand where he found his niche teaching English to underprivileged children in Chalong, Thailand.
On Saturday June 15, 2013, Nico was traveling to Keen Skool to teach the children when his life was taken.
He leaves behind his parents Ronald & Delia, and his brother Jesus (Chuy). He will be missed by his grandparents, Rose Solis, Jess Solis (predeceased), Refugio & Maria Perez, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Family members & most of all his Friends.

Services will be held at: Saint Kevin's Church, 704 Cortland Avenue, San Francisco, (415-648-5751) Rosary: Friday, July 26, 2013, 7:00p.m. Memorial Service: Saturday, July 27, 2013 11:00a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family is in the process of setting up an account in the name of: Nicolas J. Solis. All donations will go toward the children of Keen Skool in Thailand where Nico taught English.
