Long, Nan Irene

Long, Nan Irene, beloved wife of fifty-nine years to husband, Richard, passed into eternal peace on December 15th, 2012. She is survived by her loving children, Denise Sloan and Janis Schweitzer; sons-in-law, Jeff Sloan and Don Schweitzer; grandchildren, Brian Bailey, Richard Josh Sloan, Michael Sloan, Christina Droogan, Ashley Schweitzer, Taylor Schweitzer; granddaughter-in-law, Cindi Bailey; grandson-in-law, Trevor Droogan; future granddaughter-in-law, Samantha Hunt; great-grandson, Aleksandr Bailey; and great-granddaughter, Payton Droogan.

Nan was born on April 22, 1928 in Nemacolin, Pennsylvania, daughter to Alice and Edward Braden. Nan and Richard were married in Oakmont, Pennsylvania on June 19th, 1947. Nan and her family moved to California in 1959. She enjoyed a career at Whittier Union High School District where she retired as Special Education Teacher Assistant in 1988 after 15 years. Nan and Richard became residents of Brea in January 2005.

A viewing will take place at Memory Garden Memorial Park and Mortuary on Friday, December 21st at 4:00-7:00 pm. A Memorial Services will be held at Brea Baptist Church on Saturday, December 22nd at 10:00 am. Nan will be remembered by her family as a loving, devoted, wife, mother and grandmother.
