Murray, Bobbie Anthony Bobbie Thorn Anthony Murray, age 78, of Cedar Hill, TX, went home to be with her Lord on August 9, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was born May 14, 1933, in Gill Community, Marshall, TX, to JB and Jewel Rhodes Thorn, the third of five children. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1951 and later attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton, TX. There, she sang in the college choral group, "The Choraliers". She met her first love, Don Anthony, in Marshall where they married on July 22, 1955. They were married for 23 years until his death in Nov. 1978. In God's time, she met her second love, John Murray, and they married on June 24, 1988. Bobbie served as Administrative Assistant for Minister's Counseling Service of the Baptist General Convention of Texas for 16 years and retired from that ministry in 1999. She is remembered as a smiling, joyous, engaging person who was everyone's friend and had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, John A. Murray; daughter, Susan Anthony Gobert and husband, Ricky of New Braunfels, TX; son, Steve Anthony and wife, Robyn of Keller, TX; son, John Murray, Jr. and wife, Debra of La Miranda, CA; much loved grandchildren, Hannah & Jordan Gobert; Evan, Jake, Brooks, Jensen & Seth Anthony; Angela Rine, Allison Murray; sisters, Nell Lewis and Jeanne Winters and husband, Alan; brother, Joe Thorn and wife, Pat; sister-in-law, Betty Thorn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Thorn; brother-in-law, WK Lewis; son, Paul Murray; and nephew, David Lewis. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, Sat., Aug. 13, 2011 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Cedar Hill, TX. A private family burial will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation is 6-8 PM, (TODAY) Aug. 12, 2011 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund.
