Michael Duffy was born 4/4/1923 in West Virginia. He entered the Marine Corps before his 18th birthday where he met his future wife Sara, and where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. He proudly served in the Marines for over 22 years. He was stationed at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station for his entire career, unheard of in the Corps. After his retirement from the Marines, he worked in the defense industry for 20 yrs, at Autonetics, Rockwell, and Boeing Aerospace, in the Orange County area. Michael leaves 7 children, 27 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren to carry on his legacy of love of family and service to our beloved United States of America. He left this world a better place than how he found it. Michael was known for his great physical strength and conditioning, and, after dear friends of the family heard of his passing, they mused that "he's probably walking up the stairs to heaven on his hands" Hey Michael,semper fi.
There will be a recitation of the Rosary on Tuesday February 5, 2013 at 11:40 a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass at 12:10 p.m. both at Holy Family Catholic Cathedral.
