McMackin, Margaret

Margaret Mary McMackin
August 12, 1923 - January 18, 2015
"Well done good and faithful servant!"
A native, lifelong resident of San Francisco, devout Roman Catholic, and matriarch of the McMackin family, peacefully passed into the arms of our Lord, surrounded by her family.
Aunt Margaret was predeceased by her parents Charles and Mary, sister Dolores, brother Charles, sister Marcella, O.P., sister-in-law Rina and nephew Francis. She is survived by 4 generations of nieces and nephews: Joseph (Diana), Charles, Edward (Susan), Marian (Greg),Carol, (Greg), Shannon (Ryan), Katherine (John), Joseph (Marissa), Charles (Rebecca), Charles (Christine), Christopher, Brendan, Heather, Luke, Bella, Jace, Jackson, Kenzie, Grace, Sierra, Matthew, Leo and a new niece or nephew due in July. Supporting her family was of most importance to her, never missing a chance to celebrate, toast a life event and always wanting to "treat".
Margaret was a dedicated employee of Western Union for forty years, tireless volunteer, avid traveler, family archivist and great confidant. A sports enthusiast, she celebrated Giants' victories and was very disappointed when the Niners decamped to Santa Clara.
We, her family, celebrate her life and invite you to attend a Vigil at 10am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 2555 17th Ave, SF, CA, on January 23, 2015. Committal following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, to Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, 1540 Grand Ave., San Rafael, CA 94901 or Disabled Veterans of America, 1301 Clay St. #110N, Oakland, CA 94612, or your favorite charity .
