Bessiere, Maurice Pierre

Maurice Pierre Bessiere passed away at home in Millbrae on October 9, 2013 after a brief illness. He was 81 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty and his sons; Maurice, Jr. and John; daughter-in-law, Patricia; three grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-grandson; his sister, Jacqueline Lohr and several nieces and nephews.

Maurice was born and raised in San Jose. He attended St. Patrick's School, Bellarmine College Preparatory school and Lincoln High School.

After an extended stay in Europe visiting relatives, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served valiantly during the Korean Conflict and was awarded two Purple Hearts.

Maurice had a long and successful career in the entertainment business even while semi-retired at his home in Millbrae. He was a member of the Olympic Club and the Godfathers Club supporting St. Vincent's School for Boys. He was also an avid 49er fan, having held season tickets starting with Kezar stadium. Maurice was an outgoing friend to many and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends may visit after 9:30 AM, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at CHAPEL OF THE HIGHLANDS, 194 Millwood Dr. at El Camino Real in Millbrae. The Funeral will then leave the Chapel at 10:45 AM and proceed to St. Dunstan Catholic Church, 1133 Broadway, Millbrae where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent's School for Boys, 1 St. Vincent Drive, San Rafael, CA 94903, National Parkinsons Foundation Gift Processing Center PO Box 5018 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018, or a charity of your choice.
