Guenther, Marilyn

Marilyn Guenther, passed away on December 10, 2012 in Sacramento at the age of 81. Marilyn was born in Chico where she spent her early childhood years before her family moved to Yreka. She graduated from Yreka High School in 1949 after serving as the head yell leader, and a Jobs Daughters Honor Queen.
Marilyn modeled in San Francisco, worked in her father's pharmacy as a soda jerk and her mother's dress shop before marrying Charles Guenther. The couple settled in Sacramento building a life together, raising two daughters; Marilyn enjoyed a successful career at Weinstocks Dept. Store.
Marilyn enjoyed fashion, was an avid gardener, seasoned traveler and most of all she enjoyed time with her family and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by Charlie her husband of 60 years, and her grandsons Aaron and Paul. Marilyn is survived by her daughters Debbie and Cyndy (Albert); and her granddaughters Sarah, Rachel and Angela (Isaac); and her great-granddaughter Allison.
Friends are invited to attend Memorial Services on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA. followed by entombment. Donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Loaves and Fishes in her memory.
