Long, Ian Matthew April 8, 1976 - March 31, 2012 Ian Matthew Long, 35, of Valencia, CA, formerly of Eatontown, NJ, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 31, 2012. He was a 1994 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, New Jersey and a 2009 graduate of Rutgers University with a BA degree in English. In 2009, Ian moved to California to pursue his musical and playwriting goals. Recently, Ian had a script accepted by the Screen Writer's Guild. His musical skills are being enjoyed by many and there was not a stringed instrument he could not play. A joyful celebration of Ian's life was held at the Real Life Church in Valencia, on April, 10th. Ian's family would like to thank his friends and associates at the Lazy Dog Cafe', where Ian worked at the time of his death, for their compassion, care and generosity. Ian was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Rita and Charles Montgomery and paternal grandparents, Laura and Martin Long. He is survived by his parents, Sheila and Andrew Long of Brick, a brother David Long of Point Pleasant Beach and numerous relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 16th at 11:00 am at St. Peter's R.C. Church, Point Pleasant Beach. The family will be receiving friends at 10:00 am in the church prior to the mass. Ian will be entombed at St. Catherine's Mausoleum, Sea Girt, NJ, at a later date.
