Susan Jacklyn Lombardi
September 28, 1941 - October 15, 2015
Susan Jacklyn Lombardi passed away on October 15, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Susan was born on September 28, 1941 in San Jose, California to Father, Robert Greco and Mother, Margaret Greco. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Greco, Robin Greco and grand nephew Ryan Greco. Survivors include husband Felix Allen Lombardi, her three Â'precious children'; cocker spaniels, Buffet and Sophia, and her beautiful Dutch Warmblood horse, Allure. She is also survived by brother, Michael Greco, his son Dominic and daughter Marissa; nephew, John Greco and wife Lana with their sons, Justin, Jack and Brandon Greco; nephew, Matthew Greco and niece, AnnaMarie Greco.

During her formative years, Susan lived in Santa Clara and attended the St. Clair's Grammar School until the 6th grade. At that time, the family moved to San Jose where she attended St. Patrick's grade school and graduated from there in the 8th grade. She attended Notre Dame High School, graduating in 1959. She then went to San Jose City College with a degree in Marketing.

Susan enjoyed her career as a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines which took her all over the world. She retired from NWA in September, 2003 after spending 39 years in the air. But it was in Seattle where she met her husband of 41 years. Susan had always been an animal lover, even during her flying years. She would find stray dogs and bring them home, much to the chagrin of her husband. There had been many wonderful dogs during their years of marriage that filled their lives with a great deal of happiness and love.

Susan was also a skilled and accomplished horsewoman. Even in her busy career she found the time to spend with her horses. In 2003 she received the California Dressage Society Volunteer Recipient Award, for her many hours she volunteered for this organization. Susan's Equstrian credentials are many and long standing. She had been a Technical Delegate with the United States Equestrian Federation for many years and had the opportunity to travel around the United States to participate in their horse shows. During those shows she met many wonderful people, from trainers to riders, and had many stories about their events. Susan was board member of the San Francisco Peninsula Chapter of the California Dressage Society in 1997 - 2002 & 2005; Chapter Chair of that Society from that Society from 1997 - 2002; Bay Area Regional Director of the California Dressage Society from 1999 - 2001; Manager of the San Francisco Peninsula Chapter of the California Dressage Society Annual Show in 1998 - 2002, 2007, 2008 & 2012. She also was an equestrian recording secretary for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. In order to keep up with her credentials Susan attended as many seminars and classes as time would allow. She also was fortunate for the opportunity to have personal riding instructions from some of the best instructors not only in the United States but also Europe. She was an experienced rider and competitor.

Susan was a perfect hostess; she so enjoyed opening her San Francisco home to most of the California Dressage Society foreign judges and instructors. She and her husband have conducted so many tours of the city they should have been given a "key to the city". Susan loved San Francisco, its culture and history, and was proud to share her knowledge of her hometown.
