Catherine "Kay" Knight, passed away peacefully after a short illness on January 24, 2013 at Emeritus Skilled Nursing Home in Yorba Linda, CA. Kay was born September 14, 1932 in San Francisco to Vincent and Edna Malone. Married James "Jim" Knight after a whirlwind three week courtship, and celebrated their 60th anniversary on August 9, 2012. Jim and Kay had four children: Patrice Elmes (Dave) Shelton, WA, Nancy Majer Jurupa Valley, CA, Timothy Wm. Knight, Olympia, WA and Kim Novak (Randy), Placentia, CA. Following Jim around the world during his military career, the children were born in four different states: New York, California, Oregon and Hawaii. The union has also produced 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grand children and 1 great- great grandchild. Kay was pre-deceased by her parents and two brothers, Vincent and Patrick. She also considered Tom Todak (Kelly) and Matt Taylor of Orange, honorary sons. Known to all who loved her as "Special Kay", and like her favorite by Frank Sinatra, "She did it her way! She will be deeply missed. Private ceremony for family only and a celebration of life for invited guests at the Novak Residence, Saturday, February 2nd at 7pm.
