Tributes for

Lamb, Julia Louise

Lamb, Julia Louise, passed away peacefully Friday, December 21, 2012 at the age of 82. Julia was born September 3, 1930 and lived a life full of adventure and excitement. In the 50's she decided to move from her hometown of Philadelphia, PA to Fullerton, CA. Here she worked as an accountant but longed for more adventure and to serve God. She found both with the Lay Mission Helpers, a Catholic organization that supports Catholic missions around the world. So in 1963 she accepted a posting in Nigeria, West Africa as an accountant at a leprosy colony for three years. She served the Lord and had the time of her life so she thought, but the Lord had more adventures planned for her. After her Lay Mission tour she returned to Fullerton, CA but Africa gets in your blood and she returned multiple times for other postings throughout West Africa. Through her multiple postings in West Africa and many different travels she truly was a world traveler. At the young age of 80 she visited Costa Rico to zip line through the jungles. She never considered herself old and refused to slow down. At the time of her death she had ten passports and they were all full of visas that tell a story of a life full of great adventure! Services will be held for Julia on Friday, December 28th at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Placentia. Even to the end as a servant to the Lord she requested donations to the Xaverian Fathers, 12 Helene Court, Wayne, NJ 07470 in care of Julia Lamb for Sierra Leone.
