Joseph Andrew Slater
February 9, 1955 – January 29, 2013

Beloved husband, father, uncle and brother died peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Joe was born in Los Angeles, California to Dorothy M. (McNeil) and Edward J. Slater, both of whom preceded him in death.

Joe is survived by the love of his life, Nancy (Molitor) and their children A.J., Liz (Andy) Hedin and Molly. He is also survived by sister Erin Hamlin (Lonnie), brothers James (Tracy), Ed (Liz) and Dan (Janet), his Aunt Louise McNeil, and by numerous nieces and nephews who cherished and adored him.

Joe was a fourth generation builder in California and carrying on in the family tradition, he along with his brother Ed and sister-in-law Liz, founded and owned Slater Builders, an Orange County based General Contracting firm. Joe had a great presence, was well liked, and most importantly, well respected by all. His kind demeanor and sense of humor will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

Rosary to be held at 12:00 pm Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Brown Colonial Mortuary – 204 W. 17th Street, Santa Ana, CA 92706.

Funeral Service to be held at 10:00 am Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Juliana Falconieri Catholic Church – 1316 North Acacia Avenue, Fullerton, CA 92831. Reception immediately following at Coyote Hills Golf Course – 1440 Bastanchury Road, Fullerton, CA 92835.

Burial will be private.
