Tributes for

Lamar, Jennifer Horsfall

Jennifer Anne Horsfall Lamar, 42, of Tiburon, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on August on 11, 2013 after a valiant battle with brain cancer. Born September 26, 1970 to Susan (Segal) Horsfall and Brian Horsfall, Jennifer was raised with her loving brother Matthew in Walnut Creek, graduating from Northgate High School in 1988 and the University of California, Davis in 1992 with honors.

Jennifer loved the outdoors and enjoyed playing sports throughout her life. She excelled as a business leader with an entrepreneurial spirit. She led many teams to success and influenced a number of careers as a mentor and confidante.

But she considered her most important accomplishment to be the creation of a loving and happy family life for her beloved husband Steven Lamar, son Max (2) and daughter Madison Barsi (15), to whom she was a role model, inspiration and guiding spirit. She was also a loving step-mother to Amanda, Ashley and Austin Lamar and reveled in all the children in her life.

In addition to her parents and brother, Jennifer is also survived by her much-loved grandmother, Charlotte, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as many life-long friends. She often said that she had "won the jackpot" with the family she was given.

Gifted with beauty, warmth, kindness and charm, Jennifer left an indelible impression on all who knew her. She had boundless optimism and faith in the goodness of others. She faced her ultimate challenge with fierce determination, humor and strength. Jennifer embodied the definition of courage as grace under pressure and this world is a better place for having had her in it.
