Tamano, Haruo Harold
Born March 5, 1946 in Sacramento, Haruo Harold Tamano died August 12, 2013, after being diagnosed with lung cancer only two weeks prior. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Takeuchi Tamano; sons Calvin and Jeremy; sisters Betty Kazuye Kimoto (Robert) and Miyeko Frances Wolf (Ted); stepmother Masaye Grace Tamano; step-brothers David Murai (Karen) and Ken Murai (Carolyn); mother-in-law Aiko Takeuchi; sister-in-law Julia Takeuchi; many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and his dog Princess. He was preceded in death by his mother Ikuye Doris Saiki Tamano and his father Kiyoshi Kay Tamano. Haru started school at Edward Kelley Elementary and graduated from Hiram Johnson High School, Sacramento City College and California State University Sacramento. Haru farmed for thirty years until 2005 when he retired after a successful treatment for bladder cancer. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling. Family and friends are invited to the memorial service to be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2401 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento. Casual attire. The family wishes to sincerely thank family & friends for their loving support, visitations and delicious meals during this very difficult time. We also wish to thank the staff at Sutter General Hospital and Cancer Center who provided him with both medical care and comfort.
