Hagerty, Kelly

Hagerty, Wm. Kelly, age 82, passed away on Monday June 15, 2015, at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA, due to congestive heart failure. Kelly was born to Wm. Joseph and Kathryn Kelly-Hagerty in Butte, MT. He was always proud of his Montana-Irish upbringing.

Kelly is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys; his six children and their spouses, Mari and Dennis Weber, Faith and Robert Stewart, Joanna and Frank Perez, Brian Hagerty, Peggy and Donald Pentecost, and Kevin & Dea Hagerty; and his eight grandchildren, Kimberly and Justin Averitt, Megan Weber, Christopher, Ethan, Brennan and Aissa Perez, and Bobby and Aubrey Stewart; by his brother, Patrick Hagerty; and sister and her husband, Nancy and Larry Hummer and their family; and by his cousins and their spouses, Michael and Anne McGlone, and Michael and Sheila Kelly, and their families.

Kelly worked for 55 years in the financial services and securities industry in Orange County; 21 years at Dean Witter in Santa Ana before starting his own firm, Hagerty Stewart & Associates with Allen Stewart in 1978 in Newport Beach. In 1999, Kelly moved his office to Orange where he worked until his retirement in 2012.

In addition to being a founding member of the First Friday Friars Association and the Orange County Financial Society, Kelly was involved in and supported many charitable and philanthropic organizations, including St. Joseph Hospital Foundation, St. Joseph College, St. Catherine's Military Academy, Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, Providence Speech & Hearing Clinic, the Metropolitan YMCA, the Orange County Girl Scout Council, and the Friendly Center of Orange.

Private interment services will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in July.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Joseph Hospital Foundation, 1100 W. Stewart Drive, Orange, CA.
