Florence Martzen Gray, a life long Dinuba resident, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at the age of 90. Born and raised in Dinuba, she graduated from Dinuba High School in 1942, then attended Mt Zion School of Nursing in San Francisco, graduating in 1947 with a Bachelors degree in Nursing. She worked for doctors Ruminson and Wonderly for 37 years and was a past president of the California Nurses Association, 1981 - 1985. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dinuba. Florence was predeceased by her husband, Walter Witman Gray, in 1994; her son, Walter "Wally" Gray in 1978; her brothers, Dave Martzen, Joseph Martzen, Ernie Martzen and Sam Martzen; and her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Eakle and Esther Eakle.
She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Gray, of Rancho Cordova, Esther Kirkpatrick, of Dinuba, and Linda Hansen, of Central Point, OR; her son, Stanley Gray, of Visalia; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Clifton, of Dinuba.
A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Dopkins Dinuba Funeral Chapel.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 6, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church.
