Giolando, Richard J.

Richard J. Giolando, age 76, passed away suddenly while vacationing in Los Osos, CA with his loving wife Barbara. Dick was born on November 23, 1935 to Joseph and Doris Giolando of Buffalo, NY. He was married to Barbara Guhin Giolando for 48 years. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his son William Joseph, his daughter Laura Jeanne and her husband Gregory Haynes and their daughter, his only grandchild, Camryn Jeanne. His sister Jennie and her husband Robert Mayo reside in New Port Richey, FL. His brother Joe and wife Arlene reside in NY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dick moved to Los Angeles soon after high school graduation. He worked his way up in the commercial construction business and eventually became Senior Partner and President of Pacific Building Interiors, Inc. in Los
Angeles. Dick possessed a great sense of humor and truly appreciated the many friends he made everywhere he went. He loved to fish, travel and was an avid golfer and sushi fanatic, movie goer and critic, and loved his daily wine time and talks with his wife. His greatest loves were his family and his faith. He overcame many physical challenges with optimism and unbelievable strength. He was dedicated to the Cardiac Rehab Dept. at Huntington Hospital and was an officer for Huntington H.E.A.R.T. His family expresses their deepest gratitude to so many wonderful friends, Huntington Hospital doctors and Cardiac Rehab staff members who were so attentive to him and cared deeply for him. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on February 17th at 11:00 A.M. at Sts. Felicitas and Perpetua Catholic Church in San Marino. In lieu of flowers, his memory can be truly honored by a donation to the Huntington H.E.A.R.T. at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, CA.
