Foster, Don

Foster, Don, of Huntington Beach, died June 27, 2011 from a long illness. He was born November 9, 1930 the son of Ralph Foster and Madge Henry of Tulare, California. He attended Tulare High School, El Camino and UCLA. He served 6 years in the U.S. Air Force as a medic and was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant in 1953. He worked in contracts and purchasing for Garrett Airesearch, El Pac, Maney and Collins. He retired from Rockwell/Boeing in 1991. Don loved horse racing, bridge, all card games, reading, crossword puzzles and music. In latter years, he enjoyed working in his garden. He was a kind, witty and generous man, who never lost his sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and step-father. Survived by his wife, Patty; son, Mike (Aidin) of Laguna Niguel; daughter, Ami Goldner of Kincaid, Kansas; 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Sebastian and Katherine Foster, Janelle Bales, Stephanie and Kerri Goldner, Brittney, Jake and Brandon Gibson; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Ramirez; brothers, Jack Bishop and David Bishop (Shirley); many nieces, nephews, cousins; and 1 remaining aunt, Dorothy Roomsburg; in-laws, Jean (Bob) Cooley, Jim Douglas (Mary) and Dennis Douglas; close friends, David Gillmore, Sue Douglas, and Ernie Browning, who helped care for Don for many years. He was interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress. The family suggests donations to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
