Oliver Franklin Fisher
88, passed away after a short illness, on December 5, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 17, 1923 to John Franklin and Bessie Alexander Fisher in Westwood, PA. He served during World War II on a B-17 with the 15th Airforce, 463rd Bomb Group, 775th Squadron, in Foggia, Italy. Oliver was a 50 year member of Pomona Lodge #246. He also belonged to the York Rite and Scottish Bodies, Al Malaikah Shrine, Grotto, and Star of Claremont #110. Oliver is survived by his wife of 65 years, Roberta and his children Brenda Newton (Frank) and Barry Fisher (Nancy). Oliver has 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters June Del Rossi and Bessie Crosson. He was preceded in death by his brother Somerton and sisters Martha and Elizabeth. Visitation will be Friday, 5-8pm at Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona. Services will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 10 at Pilgrim Congregational Church. Internment will be at Oak Park Cemetery.
